Pumpkin is an open-source Minecraft server written entirely in Rust. It is designed for fast, efficient, customizable hosting, using multithreading and adhering to vanilla game mechanics. The project targets Java Edition and Bedrock Edition clients, although Bedrock support is marked as a work in progress.
It provides configuration through TOML and implements Minecraft protocol features including encryption, packet compression, server status and ping, world loading and saving, chunk generation, entity spawning, player movement, inventories, combat, commands, permissions, chat, and plugin support. It also supports RCON, queries, and proxy systems including BungeeCord, BungeeGuard, and Velocity.
Pumpkin is under heavy development. The server is licensed under GPLv3; its plugin APIs are dual-licensed under MIT or Apache-2.0.
