Shrimply is a free, open-source video editor for creating videos from start to finish. Its main application is written in Rust with a GTK 4 and libadwaita interface; rendering uses Skia, wgpu, Slang, and CUDA, while FFmpeg and PipeWire handle media and a Python component provides the compute server.
The project is pre-alpha software and warns of undocumented footguns, performance regressions, irreversible project-file breakage, crashes, resource leaks, and security limitations. It is licensed under GNU GPL version 3 or later, although some features depend on separately licensed NVIDIA components and model weights.
