W1700K SDR is an open-source software-defined radio project that repurposes compatible W1700K-series Wi-Fi 7 routers as wideband receivers. It replaces the router firmware with custom U-Boot, Linux, kernel-driver, and MT7996 radio firmware components; the firmware initializes the radio, controls tuning, gain, filtering, and capture, and streams raw complex IQ samples over the router’s 10 GbE port. On the Linux host, w1700k-stream distributes the IQ stream through shared memory, w1700k-spectrum serves a browser-based spectrum and waterfall with live controls, and sdr-recv records captures. The project supports the router’s 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz radio bands and sample rates up to 320 Msps, with optional correction for decimation roll-off. Installation requires compatible router hardware, a serial adapter, and a 10 GbE-connected Linux host; it replaces the stock operating system but provides a restore procedure. The project is receive-only and is licensed under a combination of MIT, GPL, and BSD-derived licenses as documented in the repository.
