Haven is an open-source, self-hosted private chat platform and Discord alternative from ancsemi. One person runs the server, while other participants join with an invite or channel code; messages and files remain on that server, and voice chat is peer-to-peer by default with an optional relay for larger servers. It provides text channels, threads, reactions, direct messages with end-to-end encryption, screen sharing, synchronized media playback, roles and per-channel permissions, moderation tools, bots and webhooks through a REST API, scheduled backups, OpenID Connect login, MFA, and browser, desktop, and Android clients. It can be run with Docker or local startup scripts, is licensed under AGPL-3.0, and includes Discord history import and a two-way Discord bridge called Ferry.
