Tool Open source

opendesk

opendesk is an open-source helpdesk that combines support email, live website chat, and a knowledge base in a shared inbox with live updates for team members. It provides ticket status, priority, assignment, tags, SLAs, notes, automations, reports, a public help center, integrations, a REST API, signed webhooks, realtime sockets, and MCP support. Its built-in AI assistant, Ollie, drafts and summarizes replies, triages tickets, translates content, and answers chat questions from the knowledge base using Anthropic- or OpenAI-compatible providers, including local models.

Overview

The system uses a Go binary for the API, background jobs, and event relay; an Elixir realtime gateway; and PostgreSQL. Changes are written as events in the same transaction as the underlying update, then published through NATS to the gateway, browsers, and webhooks. The hosted service and self-hosted installation use the same code. Self-hosting is available on Linux through a Docker-based installer, and the project is licensed under Apache License 2.0.
