Tool Open source
Laranode is an open-source, self-hosted hosting control panel and cPanel/Plesk alternative for fresh Ubuntu VPS or dedicated servers. It provides browser-based management for websites, MySQL databases, Apache, PHP versions, Let's Encrypt certificates, files, live CPU/memory/network statistics, user accounts and roles, and UFW firewall rules.
Its backup manager handles complete hosting accounts, individual website files, and website databases. Backups can run on demand or on daily, weekly, or monthly retention schedules and can be stored locally, in S3-compatible object storage, or over SFTP; backup and restore jobs run asynchronously with status and failure details in the panel. Laranode can be installed directly on Ubuntu 24.04 or later or run as a Docker container, and is released under the MIT license.

A free self-hosted alternative to cPanel and Plesk for a VPS: from your browser you can create websites, manage MySQL and PHP versions, add Let's Encrypt certificates, and check server usage. It also handles firewall rules and scheduled backups to local storage, S3, or SFTP, and is designed for a fresh Ubuntu server.
