Maildun is a self-hosted email platform for teams that combines audience management, email campaigns, transactional email, automations, and first-party engagement tracking in one application. It runs on the operator's infrastructure and sends workspace email through Amazon SES or SMTP, with audiences supporting custom attributes, tags, segments, CSV imports, double opt-in, and hosted subscribe forms. Campaigns use a visual editor and support reusable templates, scheduling, attachments, test sends, and engagement insights; transactional messages are exposed through a team-scoped, versioned JSON API; and event-driven automations use durable jobs that resume after restarts. It also provides SES bounce and complaint processing, optional local geolocation databases for tracking, team workspaces with roles and authentication features, Redis-backed queues, and an MCP server for AI-assisted workspace operations. The project is built with Laravel, Inertia, React, TypeScript, Redis, and Laravel Horizon, and is currently in beta. It is licensed under AGPL-3.0-only with additional attribution and naming terms.
