Notchware

Codenotch is a macOS app that pins a small notch to a screen edge and displays usage limits, reset windows, and activity states for coding assistants including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Antigravity, and GLM. It can show whether a provider is working, finished, or waiting for user input, with separate rings for separate Claude Code profiles and live session details on hover. Each provider adapter reads credentials, sessions, logs, databases, language-server RPCs, or provider endpoints already used by the corresponding local tool; Codenotch does not sign in to services itself. A UsageStore polls the adapters, preserves the last good reading across launches, labels each reading by fidelity, and exposes failures as statuses such as stale, needsAuth, or error rather than inventing a percentage. The notch can be placed on any screen edge, expands when approached, and can be configured to show or hide its Dock and menu-bar icons. The app is written for macOS, supports a demo mode with fixed sample data, and uses Sparkle for signed background updates. Its README notes that the provider interfaces may change because some readings come from internal endpoints or local application state. The project is licensed under the MIT License.

Crowny is a native MacBook notch app that puts everyday tools and AI coding-agent activity in a single glanceable interface. It displays the status of Claude Code, Codex, and Grok sessions, shows which agent needs attention, and lets users approve or deny commands from the notch while tracking Claude usage limits locally without an account. The app also provides access to music, timers, calendars, reminders, clipboard history, files, pinned sites, games, weather, water reminders, and focus controls. It is sold as a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.

Cyclop is a native macOS SwiftUI/AppKit utility that turns the MacBook notch into a hover-activated panel. It provides media controls for players and browser tabs visible to macOS, a drag-and-drop file shelf, clipboard history, reusable text snippets, calendar entries with meeting join buttons, offline English–Russian translation using macOS facilities, a teleprompter, and scratch notes. The panel unfolds when the pointer reaches the notch and collapses when it leaves; it can also open automatically during file dragging and remain open while a teleprompter script scrolls. The project is distributed as free, open-source software with no external dependencies, requires macOS 15 or newer, and needs one permission granted during first launch.

Noty is a native macOS sticky-notes app built with Swift, SwiftUI, and AppKit. Notes rest as a pill on the screen edge and fan out into tabs when the pointer reaches it, avoiding floating windows and a Dock icon. It supports inline checkbox tasks, quick capture, search, archiving, Markdown editing and export, import, multiple displays, customizable global shortcuts, and automation through a noty:// URL scheme. Notes are stored in a local SQLite database, with note bodies encrypted using AES-GCM through CryptoKit; titles, colours, and timestamps remain in plaintext. The app requires macOS 15 or later, does not require an account or system permissions, and reports no server, analytics, telemetry, or tracking SDK use. It is distributed as a macOS application and DMG, is MIT-licensed, and is not sandboxed or notarized according to the repository.

Headroom is a local-first macOS menu-bar app for monitoring AI coding quotas and software delivery status, with optional iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and ESP32 desk-display clients. A Python host running on the Mac reads the authentication data and command-line tools already configured for services such as Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub, and Vercel, then serves a single local JSON feed; credentials remain on the machine and no Headroom cloud account is required. Its interfaces show provider quota meters, usage rings, burn rate and spend, failed Actions, deployments, monitors, and other attention items, and the iPhone client can approve, deny, or reply to Claude and Codex requests without starting work. The Mac host uses port 8737, requires macOS 14+ and Python 3.9+, and the optional desk display uses a Waveshare ESP32-S3-Touch-AMOLED-1.8 board.
