npmx.dev is an open-source web frontend for browsing the npm registry, developed as a fast, modern alternative interface rather than a replacement for the registry. It provides package search and details, README and metadata views, source-code browsing with syntax highlighting and line permalinks, generated API documentation when available, version diffs, changelogs, publish timelines, package comparisons, and shareable URL-driven views. It also surfaces dependency and package-health information such as outdated dependencies, OSV vulnerability warnings, provenance indicators, license and install-script warnings, install size including transitive dependencies, download statistics, repository signals, and JSR availability. The interface supports dark and light modes, localization across dozens of locales including right-to-left languages, keyboard workflows, screen readers, and package, team, and organization administration through the local npm CLI.
